Some of The Best Things to Do in Martha’s Vineyard
I have already listed many of the things you could do once you get to the famous Martha’s Vineyard, but are they truly the best things you could do there? The ones that would make your vacation a true adventure? Sure, they have their merit in bringing excitement to your visit, but what makes an adventure memorable is spontaneity and finding mystery and excitement in the places people don’t dare to look! Here are my choices on what are the best things to do on Martha’s Vineyard.
Roam through all of the towns
Each of the towns on this island comes with a set of history for itself, telling us about the famous Captains that once lived there many years ago or numerous other fascinating stories ready for us to hear and experiment by ourselves. On top of that, each part of the island has a different energy and aura, some of them are more vibrant while the others are more serene. It’s like stepping into a whole new world and filling yourself with that world’s energy. The more you wander around, the better.
Rent a bike
Remember what I said about not bringing your car to the island because it would be too expensive? Well, let’s take a less expensive, equally fun means of transportation to travel around! Biking is a great exercise, and it certainly would be inspiring to ride around on a bike on such beautiful beaches and roads, and surrounded by such beautiful, intriguing nature.
Picnic
Seriously, this island is made for picnics! With the beautiful countryside cottages and the ocean views, the beaches, the flowers, having a nice romantic or relaxing lunch here would be something taken out of a dream! Breathing the sea air, feeling the sun on your skin, all of it while eating delicious homemade food, that’s something that you don’t get to live every day, and you should not pass such a fantastic opportunity to enjoy it. From now on, let’s say having a picnic at Martha’s Vineyard is a must-do!
Visit the fishing sites
Even if you’re not passionate about fishing, this is something that forms part of the island’s popular culture, and part of an adventure is inserting yourself into the culture of whatever place you visit. Make that culture something yours as well, every traveling experience is supposed to become a new part of yourself. Besides, we have already seen that the waters on this island are simply divine! So blue, so peaceful yet so powerful, the sole fact of passing near them is an honor itself, and as I said, this island has tons of stories about famous, valiant captains that navigated the same waters and passed by the same roads you will be walking at the moment. You can learn so much more about them by walking near where they walked.
Well, I guess those are my personal favorites. But, hey, don’t miss the opportunity to pass through some of the popular tourist spots that I told you about. The fact that something is popular doesn’t mean it can’t be interesting, too.
